ELLERY–Matthew Mecusker, 29, Lewis Road, Ellery, was found to be in possession of four trucks and one 5th wheel camper trailer, all of which were reported as stolen according to a report early Sunday afternoon by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division following a “two-week investigation.”
“These vehicles were allegedly purchased at various locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio with bad checks over the last several weeks,” sheriff’s investigators said.
Mecusker was taken into custody Friday on outstanding warrants from Ohio and arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice. He also was charged locally for one count of 2nd degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property valued over $50,000 and 4 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property valued over $3000.
Mecusker was arraigned in the Town of Ellery Court No bail has been set at the time of the media release.
