GERRY-James Hancock, 56, no street address provided, is scheduled to appear in town court and answer charges related to an alleged phony insurance claim for $2,100.

Troopers out of State Police Jamestown arrested Hancock April 3rd  for 4 th degree Insurance Fraud and Making a Punishable False Written Statement.

State Police had responded to a residence in Gerry for a report of a burglary to interview Hancock who reported two hunting bows and a shotgun were missing from his garage. However the subsequent investigation revealed that Hancock had sold the items months prior and then collected $2,100.00 from the insurance claim.

Hancock was arrested at SP Jamestown and issued appearance tickets directing him to appear in Town of Gerry Court later this month.
